How to Apply

Apply for the 2017 Season

We are looking for Ohio artists and craftspeople to display and sell their high-quality products. 

Please read the information below prior to applying.


  • Work MUST be handmade in Ohio. No resell (buy and sell) permitted. Work will be juried.
  • Space fee $25/day 
  • Vendors must provide their own tables, chairs, display items and anything else for their 10'x10' space.
  • We are a family-friendly market.


Registration with City Safety Director: Per City ordinance, all vendors must be registered with the City,  before appearing at the Market. Information will be sent with acceptance documentation. 


Non-Competition: Since we are such a small market, we have a policy of non-competition between vendors. While at huge art festivals like the Columbus Art Fair it's not a problem to have several vendors selling competitive products, it just doesn't work at our Market. Therefore, if we already have a vendor selling a very similar item to yours, we cannot accept your application for the same date. To view our vendors, their products and the dates they are scheduled to be at the Market, please refer to the "Vendors by Date" tab. We receive more applications for selling jewelry than anything else; if your work is not substantially different from a current exhibitor, we cannot accept it. Photos of items offered by current vendors can be viewed at the " Gallery" tab.


Jurying: Vendors will be selected at the discretion of the Lancaster Handmade Market Committee, who may accept or reject some or all of the work. Only items handcrafted in Ohio by YOU the artisan are being accepted. No resell is permitted. If images are not provided your application will not be considered. Specialty Markets: Several times a year Destination Downtown Lancaster sponsors several events such as Art Walk, Fall Festival and the Winter Carnival in the downtown area. Lancaster Handmade Market has been a part of those events. They are separate from the regular season markets but adds an additional venue for the vendors of Lancaster Handmade Market. New vendors will be required to commit to 6 weekend markets in order to qualify for the Specialty Market Events.


Payment: Your full space fee is due after you have been accepted and at least one week before the Market date. Once you have been accepted and have committed to specific dates, your prepaid booth fees are forfeit if you are unable to participate on your committed dates. Market is held rain or shine; no refunds of space fees due to weather. Vendors will not be included in advertising nor is their space assured until payment is received.

Completion of this application does not guarantee acceptance to the Lancaster Handmade Market. Vendors will be selected at the discretion of the Lancaster Handmade Market Committee, who will jury all applications and may accept or reject some or all of the work. Any new items that have not previously been approved must be submitted for approval at least one week prior to the Market at which you wish to introduce them. All applicants will be notified by email or mail once the jurying has been completed. Additional information will be distributed at that time to accepted vendors.
